Skillet Revolution: Independence, Innovation, and New Sounds Await!

Skillet, the GRAMMY-nominated, 22x platinum, and Pandora Billionaires Club band, is set to further cement its formidable legacy with the release of their first independent album, "REVOLUTION," on November 1, 2024. As of 2024, Skillet has achieved significant milestones, including two GRAMMY Award nominations, a Billboard Music Award, and three albums in the Top 5 of the Billboard 200. With over 22 million units sold worldwide and more than 24 billion global streams, Skillet has attained multi-platinum, platinum, or gold RIAA certifications for 12 singles and four full-length albums. Their latest RIAA Gold certifications were awarded this summer for the tracks "Legendary" and "Stars," and they have consistently attracted 10 million monthly listeners on Spotify, featuring "Monster," one of the most-streamed rock songs of all time, certified five-times-platinum.

Skillet Revolution coverAfter an incredible 20 years with Atlantic Records, Skillet chose to go independent, developing a robust indie team and leveraging the support of a passionate global fan base. This newfound freedom allowed them to write and record the album at their own pace, whether on the road or in studios across Milwaukee, Canada, and Nashville. Longtime collaborators and producers Brian Howes and Seth Mosely, along with band member Korey Cooper and YOUTHYEAR/Carlo Colasacco, contributed to bringing the 10 tracks of "REVOLUTION" to life.

John, the band's frontman, expressed the excitement and creative freedom that came with producing their first independent record. "We did exactly what we wanted to do," he said. "If I was on the road and felt inspired to write, I just did." The album features a variety of musical flavors, from arena songs to nostalgic and throwback Skillet tunes. Thematically, it addresses the cultural issues of nihilism, depression, and materialism, advocating for a revolution of love, understanding, and tolerance.

Skillet's independence has also allowed them to make swift decisions, a significant advantage in the rapidly changing music industry. "I wrote a song and we recorded it eight days later," John explained, highlighting the benefits of being independent.

In anticipation of the album release, Skillet debuted "Ash In The Wind," a single that merges the essence of old Skillet and Linkin Park. Produced by Korey, it combines live performance energy with modern recording techniques.

Ready to share their new music, Skillet announced a fall tour with Seether, followed by their first-ever tour of the Middle East in November, with performances in Turkey, Kazakhstan, the United Arab Emirates, and more. They will also support Black Stone Cherry on select dates across the U.K., marking an exciting new chapter in Skillet's influential career.
